32 | LPA reviewed a sample of children’s records and observed files to be complete, including contact information for authorized representatives and medical assessments. A sample of staff files was reviewed and found complete with required health screenings, immunization records (influenza, pertussis, measles), and current mandated reporter training certificates.
LPA discussed the Community Care Licensing website (www.ccld.ca.gov), which provides access to forms, regulations, Provider Information Notices (PINs), and Quarterly Updates. Reporting Requirements (Section 101212) and Technical Support Program resources were also reviewed.
Site Supervisor Lilia Perez was reminded that all adults 18 years and older, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer an existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. Civil penalties of a minimum of $100 per day for up to 5 days or up to 30 days for repeat violations may be assessed for non-compliance.
Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water used for drinking and food preparation for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and every five years thereafter. Centers licensed after July 1, 2022, must test water within 180 days of licensure in accordance with Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1-CCP). The facility was constructed after January 1, 2010.
This facility provides Incidental Medical Services (IMS). LPA reviewed medication storage, equipment/supplies, and children’s, personnel, and administrative records. IMS information is available in PIN 22-02-CCP. LPA provided information regarding the ADA, including the U.S. Department of Justice toll-free ADA Information Line at (800) 514-0301 (voice) or (800) 514-0383 (TTY), and the publication “Commonly Asked Questions about Child Care Centers and the ADA,” available at: https://www.ada.gov/resources/child-carecenters/.
Site Supervisor Perez was informed of MyChildCarePlan.org, a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them with providers and Resource & Referral Agencies across California.
