25 | On 7/27/2023, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Ruby Ocegueda and Pa Kou Vue conducted a case management inspection for the purpose of inspecting a newly renovated area and bathroom that licensee is requesting to use. LPA’s met with licensee Elizabeth Rodriguez today. LPA’s conducted a census and toured the facility.
Today, it was observed that the newly renovated area is a converted garage with an attached bathroom. The area however has not been completed as it is still in need of flooring and furniture. Currently, the licensee has obtained a building permit issued by the City of Porterville. Currently in the garage is recessed lighting, kitchenette, central heat and air and two ceiling fans. The area has three windows and an exit leading to the back yard. The garage is connected to the main home through a hall door and the children will enter to the converted garage through the main front door entrance. Licensee was advised that a fire inspection would have to be completed when the renovation was completed. LIC 9052 (Local Fire Inspection Authority) form was printed and provided to licensee.
After discussing the requirements, it was determined that LPA Ocegueda would make a return inspection after the renovation was completed and after the fire inspection was completed to ensure it is deemed safe and adequate to use by day care children. Licensee is currently not using the space and understands that areas not approved by the Department should not be used for care until they are approved.
Per Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3 of the California Code of Regulations, no deficiencies are cited today. LC 9213 was provided to licensee and required to be posted for 30 days.
