25 | On 2/28/2025 ,Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) German Negrete conducted an unannounced Annual Required 3 year inspection of the above mentioned Child Care Center (CCC). LPA met with Amanda Peinedo Youth Development Coordinator(YDC) and with Brieann Ghuman, Site Supervisor of the CCC. LPA explained the purpose and nature of the inspection. The after school program, operates Monday – Friday 11:30AM to 6PM. At the time of inspection, LPA observed 28 children and 4 staff providing care and supervision. The site supervisor assists with care and supervision of children.
LPA observed required licensing forms and documents posted near the main door entry(#9). A menu is also posted in a visible location. The CCC's children Sign In/Out forms(virtual) were reviewed by LPA. The forms contained the arrival and departure times of children in care and the signatures of the children's authorized representatives. The classrooms(#10, #9) of the CCC are clean and orderly. The classrooms have age-appropriate equipment and furnishings available to children in care. The CCC has multiple carbon monoxide detectors and smoke detectors. LPA tested Carbon Monoxide detector at 1:02PM. LPA could not test smoke detectors due to the alarms being connected to one system(see LIC812).
The CCC uses two restrooms for children. LPA observed one restroom in sanitary condition, The additional restroom was not in sanitary condition(see LIC812). YDC stated, children in care are monitored by CCC staff when using the restrooms. LPA observed a operable refrigerator in the classroom. If required, the refrigerator is used for food/snack. Lunch is not provided to children in care at this CCC. The children in care receive snack once a day at 2:30PM. CCC does not provide IMS at this time. The CCC also has available filtered drinking water for children inside classroom#10. CCCs constructed before 1/1/20, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before 1/1/23, and then every 5-years except after the date of the first test.
