25 | On March 21, 2024 at 1:45 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Laura Villanueva conducted an unannounced Case Management- Licensee Initiated inspection to add a classroom. LPA observed 22 children with 4 staff.
Today's visit was to measure a room to be added to the license. LPA observed children in 3 different classrooms including the room that is pending inspection. LPA counted 9 sleeping children with 1 staff in the room to be added to the child care license. The staff informed LPA that Director and Assistant Director are not present and won't be coming back today. The designation of responsibility designates Director, Amy Vega and Assistant Director, Elizabeth Fox to run the center. The staff present are not designated as a lead teacher or director. LPA called Director on the cell number on file. Director informed LPA that she teaches a class at Moorpark Community College on Tuesday and Thursday from 2:15PM to 3:30PM. Director stated that Assistant Director is usually here, but today she is out sick. LPA informed Director that the classroom that is pending inspection has children napping in it. Director stated that they have been waiting for a year to add this room, so they decided to use it. LPA informed Director that the room is not licensed for children to occupy. LPA informed Director that an office meeting with be scheduled for next week to discuss the deficiency cited today.
Today, Type A deficiency cited under Title 22 Division 12. Appeal rights given. Upon receipt of this report, licensee shall post and provide copies of this licensing report to parents /guardian of children in care at the facility and to parent/guardians of children newly enrolled at the facility during the next 12 months. Licensee to provide LIC 9224 for each child in care and have each parent sign the form that they have received a copy of the report LIC 809 and LIC 809 D.
