Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) JoAnn Rosales conducted a subsequent complaint investigation visit.

During today's complaint investigation LPA toured the facility with staff Sean Beharry, interviewed random residents and staff and obtained copies of pertinent documents. Concerns were that the facility failed to provide a comfortable temperature for residents as the facility had been 62 degrees and staff did not have access to turn on the heater. Interview with staff on 1/25/21 starting at 1:53 pm revealed that staff have access to the heater and staff were unaware of any complaints of residents being cold. Interview with resident #1 (R1) on 6/8/21 starting at 2:09 pm revealed that it was cold in the winter and sometimes the heater would work and sometimes it would not. Interview with R2 revealed that the heater is never turned on. Interview with R3 revealed that they used to run the heater but they recently stopped running it. During facility tour starting at 3:36 pm LPA observed that the thermostats across from room 24 and next to room 16

Administrator stated that they will provide documentation of repaired heaters to CCL by 6/15/21.

Based on LPA’s observations and interviews, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above as 2 of 4 thermostats were not calling for heat which poses a potential personal rights risk to persons in care.
