Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Kelly Dulek conducted an initial complaint investigation regarding the above allegations. LPA met with Administrator Ashiman (Ashi) Gill and Director of Health Services Heather Hampel and explained the reason for the visit.

During today's visit, LPA interviewed both managers at 11:31AM, toured the facility and observed medication pass at 12:00PM, interviewed three (3) staff from 12:29PM to 02:42PM. LPA also reviewed and obtained copies of relevant documents. The following was then determined:

clothing and LPA did not observe any residents eating off the floor. Staff interviewed stated they have never seen any resident pick something up off the floor and eat it. Staff stated even when a resident drops food from their hand, staff have never observed a resident eat that food. Interviews revealed that change of shift occurs at 06:00AM. Morning staff arrive, including six (6) caregivers and two (2) nurses. Additionally, housekeeping and dining staff arrive during a similar time frame. Oncoming care staff meet with outgoing care staff to ensure communication between the shifts related to the residents and their care needs. The morning staff then begin conducting rounds to assist the residents with their care needs. There are some residents who are early risers that do come out of their rooms in the morning hours. When a resident is observed in the common areas of the facility walking around either unclothed or in their pajamas, the resident is redirected back to their room and the staff assist them with getting dressed. Staff interviewed stated the residents are free to ambulate around the facility, as this is their home. However, staff encourage residents to remain dressed in appropriate clothing in the common areas. The information obtained during the investigation did not include evidence sufficient to corroborate the allegation. Although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not sufficient evidence to prove the alleged violation did or did not occur, therefore the allegation is deemed Unsubstantiated at this time.

No deficiencies cited during today's visit. Exit interview conducted. A copy of the report was provided.
