On November 8, 2023 at 9:35 AM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPA's) Susana Martinez and Veronica Diaz conducted an unannounced Required- 3 year inspection. LPA's met with director Mariela Guido and FSA Alondra Guzman and advised them the purpose of the inspection. Director provided LPA's a tour of the facility inside and out. At the time of inspection there were 38 children in care. The center operates M-F 8 AM- 2 PM. Center provides lunch and snacks, which are prepared on site.

LPA observed required licensing documents mounted on the walls throughout the facility. Last fire drill was conducted on 10/19/2023. Each of the classrooms have age-appropriate toys and furniture readily accessible for children in care. LPA observed enough restrooms available for children to use. LPA did not observe any hazards/toxins items accessible to children. First Aid kits were observed throughout the facility. Currently the facility uses an App called Child Plus for sign-in/sign-out. LPA's reviewed the sign-in/sign-out log for today and verified all 38 children present were signed in today.

The outdoor playground is shaded and has an ample amount of space for children to play. LPA observed the playground has age-appropriate toys and structures available for children to use. LPA's observed children playing at a water table. LPA's reminded director that children playing with water tables or any similar bodies of water need to be under direct supervision at all times regardless of the amount of water there is. Once the water play is done, the water shall be dumped out.

A sampling of children and staff records were reviewed. LPA's reviewed 5 children's files. LPA's observed children's files to be complete and current. Currently the facility has children that require Incidental Medical services (IMS). LPA's observed medications stored out of reach from children. LPA observed staff files to be complete and current. CPR current with an expiration date of 1/2025. Staff mandated reporter certification are all current. LPA verified SB792 Child Care Adult Immunization and Tuberculosis requirements.

Director was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

This facility provides Incidental Medical Services – IMS. LPA reviewed storage of “medication and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s, personnel, and administrative records.

Director was informed of the MyChildCarePlan.org website; a consumer education website that helps families obtain child care by connecting them to child care providers and Resource and Referral Agencies (R&Rs) throughout California.

A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days. Failure to comply with posting requirements shall result in an immediate civil penalty of $100.
