32 | Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010, to test their water (used for drinking and food preparation) for lead contamination before January 1, 2023, and then every 5-years after the date of the first test. For child care center licenses issued after July 1, 2022, the Licensee shall test their water for lead within 180 days of licensure pursuant to Written Directives section 101700 (PIN 21-21.1-CCP). LPA verified the lead testing was completed in accordance to the Written Directives outlined in PIN 21-21.1-CCP.
Medications, sharps, and cleaning supplies were observed to be in areas of the CCC that are accessible to staff and inaccessible to children in care. The restrooms in the CCC are in clean and sanitary operating condition and changing tables at the CCC are within arm’s reach sinks. The CCC uses a combination of the Sprout About application and a manual process for Sign In/Out purposes. LPA reviewed a sampling of the records which contain the children's arrival and departure times along with entries from the children’s authorized representative.
The CCC's outdoor playground is separated into areas for children of differing ages. The outdoor area is fully enclosed, and the entry/exit points are secured. LPA observed age-appropriate toys/play equipment in the play area which are in suitable condition and the footing in the area is varied. The play structures in the playground area have adequate cushioning material to absorb falls. There is shade available in the area created by trees and shade sails. No bodies of water were observed on site.
Staff and children’s records were reviewed. The children’s records were complete and found to contain emergency contact information as well as immunization records. LPA reviewed a sampling of Infant Needs/Services, Individual Infant Sleep Plans and 15-minute sleep logs. Staff records were reviewed. At 1:30 PM, LPA notes that S1, S2, S3, S4, S5, and S6 do not have immunization records on file for review. At 1:35 PM, LPA notes that S2, S3, S4, S5, and S6 do not have current Mandated Reporter trainings (AB1207) on file for review. At 1:45 PM, LPA notes S5 and S7 do not have any credentials (Early Childhood Education or Child Development credits) on file for review. Director states there are no firearms or ammunition stored on site. Continued on 809-C
