On July 9, 2024 at 11:35 AM Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Aaliyah Zendejas conducted an unannounced annual required inspection and met with Licensee, Maria Gonzalez. LPA discussed the purpose of the inspection with licensee. At the time of the inspection there was one child present under the care and supervision of the licensee. Licensee denies having guns/ammunition in the home. Licensee has a two story home with 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a living room, kitchen, and enclosed backyard area.

LPA observed licensing required documents posted prominently at the entrance. Fire and earthquake drills are being documented every six months. Last drill was conducted on June 24, 2024. Fire extinguisher 2A10BC was placed inside the home, in the kitchen area and was last serviced January 3,2024. Fire and carbon monoxide detectors were tested at 12:00PM and found to be in working condition.

Children in care have access to a living room, a family room, one restroom, kitchen, and enclosed backyard. LPAs observed a barrier placed in the hallway to prevent children from accessing the upper levels of the home. LPA observed knives placed out of reach on children in the kitchen and child proof covers on the doorknobs. Children have access to toys that are age-appropriate inside and outside of the home. There are no bodies of water present at the time of inspection. During the tour, LPA did not observe any hazards/toxins items accessible to children in care.

LPA reviewed four out of four children files. All children files were current. Licensee CPR/first aid is valid through 06/15/2026. Licensee was reminded a licensed child day care provider, administrator, or employee of a licensed child day care facility shall complete the mandated reporter certification AB1207 every two years at www.mandatedreporterca.com Licensee’s mandated reporter certification is valid through 09/21/2025.

LPAs also informed licensee of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment. Licensee does not currently have infants in care.
