25 | On 07/13/2023 at 2:20 PM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Francisca Velazquez conducted an unannounced One Year Required Inspection of the Family Child Care Home (FCCH) and a change of capacity inspection. LPA met Manuela Tejeda, licensee of the FCCH and explained the purpose of the inspection. At the time of the inspection, there were no children present.
LPA, in the company of Licensee toured the interior and exterior of the FCCH. This home is a two-story home that consists of formal living room, dining room, kitchen, four (4) bedrooms, three (3) bathroom, laundry room, sunroom, garage, and outdoor yard. Daycare services are offered in the sunroom, living room, bathroom, and outdoor yard. Meanwhile, the entire second floor, laundry room, and garage are inaccessible to children in care. LPA observed two baby gates on the stairway making entire second floor inaccessible to children in care.
The FCCH was observed to be clean and orderly. The FCCH has ventilation to afford for the children’s comfort. LPA observed a fireplace in the formal living room and living room that are secured and inaccessible by a gate. LPA observed sharps are stored in an elevated cabinet in the kitchen. Medication for the family is stored in an elevated cabinet in the kitchen. LPA observed cleaning compounds are stored in laundry room and in a locked shed in the outdoor yard. The bathroom used for childcare is clean and free of toxins. LPA observed toys, furniture, and equipment in the FCCH are age appropriate and in good condition.
Required forms are predominantly posted on the sunroom of the FCCH. LPA observed a smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in the FCCH. Detectors were tested at 3:30 PM and was found to be operable. The FCCH has a regulation fire extinguisher on site which was purchased on 1/11/2023. LPA reminded the Licensee to either service or purchase a regulation fire extinguisher annually. The FCCH maintains working telephone services. The Licensee informed LPA no firearms or ammunition are stored on site. CONT 809-C |
