25 | On March 21, 2024 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Susana Martinez conducted an unannounced case management- other inspection to follow up on indoor and outdoor construction. LPA was greeted at the door by Licensee Maria Rodriguez. LPA advised Licensee of reason for inspection. Together with Licensee, LPA toured the home inside and outside. At the time of inspection there were 4 children in care of 2 adults.
Licensee reported to the Department that work would be done to kitchen as well as the backyard fence. On 3/15/24, Licensee reported that a contractor would be starting work on the backyard fence. Licensee stated backyard would be made inaccessible to children in care until fence is completed.
During the inspection LPA did not observe any active construction inside or outside the home. The kitchen was observed to be in tact. Kitchen is fully functional and accessible.
During the inspection LPA observed backyard to be fully fenced and complete. The Licensee states children still do not have access to the backyard due to furnishings/equipment being out of place. Licensee states the home had water damage due to the rain therefore some furnishings/toys outside are not available. LPA observed the doors leading to the backyard to be closed preventing children from having access.
LPA did not observe any hazardous/toxic items accessible to children in care. Given the facility's account of the construction/remodeling when reporting it to the Department and how they addressed it, LPA deemed the facility's actions appropriate.
No deficiencies were issued during today's inspection.
A notice of site visit was given.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with Licensee Maria Rodriguez. |
