25 | On August 19, 2026, , at 08:58AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Cynthia Alvarez conducted an unannounced Required – Annual inspection at the Family Child Care Home (FCCH). LPA met with licensee Maricela Magana and advised them of the purpose of the inspection. Licensee provided LPA a tour of the home, inside and outside. There were 7 children in care and 1 assistant at the time of the inspection. The FCCH operates Monday – Friday from 7:00AM – 5:00PM.
The FCCH is a two-story home that consists of 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom home. Areas accessible to children in care include the living room, family room, kitchen, dining room, 1 bathroom and outdoor backyard. Inaccessible areas include the entire second floor, listed in the facility sketch as area off limits for childcare, LPA observed area to be properly secured with a gate at the bottom of the stairs. In the kitchen, sharp and personal medications are stored in a cabinet that is higher than 5 feet of height, and cleaning agents are stored in a cabinet under the sink which was observed to be locked. During the inspection age-appropriate toys and furniture were observed accessible to children. During the inspection LPA did not observe any hazards, toxins, or bodies of water accessible to children in care. Licensee verified that there are ammunition/weapons in the home. LPA verified they are stored properly.
LPA and licensee toured the enclosed backyard. LPA observed there is shading to afford the children's comfort. The play area has age-appropriate toys and day-care equipment, that were varied, in good condition and age-appropriate. LPA and licensee discussed active supervision when children are in the backyard. A dog was observed in the backyard, the dog is kept away from the children, licensee stated the dog has his vaccines up to date.
