On February 11, 2025 10:40 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Laura Carone made an unannounced visit to conduct a Case Management-Other Inspection. LPA met with Program Director, Aruni Ganewatte and Administrator, Harshini Maddox and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPA and Program Director toured the interior and exterior of the center. There were 8 staff caring for 22 children at the time of the inspection.

LPA was attempting to conduct an annual inspection for Bright Stars Academy child care center. LPA has called the number on file and the number is not in service. LPA searched on Google Maps to find the address of 1777 Statham Blvd, Oxnard, CA 93033 and it shows Bright Stars Center is temporarily closed. Upon LPA's arrival, there is now a center called Growing Minds Children's Center with a license number 566217015. They have been licensed at this location since 07/16/2024. Bright Stars Academy is no longer open at this location. LPA will be closing Bright Stars Academy-566215639.
