On 7/12/2022 at 10:51 AM, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Austin Rios and conducted a Case Management inspection. LPA met with the licensee Joanna Valdes. LPA advised licensee the purpose of the inspection. A tour of the facility was conducted by LPA with licensee. The facility had 9 children in care at the time of the inspection.

While initiating a complaint, at 10:51 AM, LPA observed licensee has a blow up pool in the backyard. LPA observed there was only a 3 Ft. high mesh fence around the pool and measured it to show it was not a 5 foot high fence and the pool cover does not support the weight of an adult. Pool was not ensured of inaccessibility to the children in care and there was a step up stool in front of the pool. California Code of Regulation, (Title 22 Division 12 102417(g)(5) and 102417(g)(5)(a) as well as 102417(g)(5)(b) type A deficiencies are being cited on the attached LIC 809 D) for bodies of water.

LPA Austin Rios informed licensee Joanna Valdes that this report dated 7/12/2022 document Title 22 Division 12 102417(g)(5) and 102417(g)(5)(a) as well as 102417(g)(5)(b) Type A citation(s) which shall be posted for 30 consecutive days as there are immediate risk(s) to the health, safety, or personal rights of children in care.

Also, LPA Austin Rios informed the licensee to provide a copy of this licensing report dated 7/12/2022 that documents any Type A citation(s) to parents/guardians of all children currently enrolled by the next business day or the next day the children are in care, and to any newly enrolled parents/guardians for 12 months from the date of this report. A signed Acknowledgement of Receipt of Licensing Report (LIC 9224), or other written statement, must be placed in the child's file for verification. LPA also provided licensee with appeal rights.

Licensee stated she is going to remove the entire blow up pool then send LPA Rios a picture by 7/15/2022.

Based on LPA observed a blow up pool in the backyard which was not fully inaccessible to chidlren in care as fence was a mesh fence and was not 5 ft. high. which poses an immediate health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

Based on LPA Obsevations and measurements the fence was not 5 feet high and was made out of mesh with no locks. The pool cover was also not strong enough to support an adult which poses an immediate health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.
