Licensing Program Manager (LPM) George Mingle, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Francisco Pedroza and Dean Thompson met with facility Director Cheryl Curtis and Principal Jessica Navarro for an Informal Conference office meeting at the Department of Social Services, Santa Barbara Regional Office. Due to the COVID - 19 and the Department of Public Health guidelines of social distancing, a virtual tele-meeting was conducted via Zoom. The purpose of the office meeting was to discuss recent concerns with the operation of a Child Care Center Pursuant to Title 22, Division 12 of the California Code of Regulations.
Deficiencies and Concerns discussed:
- Accountability
- Personnel Requirements - Training for Staff
- Responsibility for Care and Supervision
- Personal Rights of Children
In response to the discussion, Director has agreed to the following:
- Director shall submit a written statement indicating how they will maintain compliance with California Code of Regulations, Title 22, Division 12 at all times by 12/1/2021.
- Director shall submit a written statement no later than 12/1/2021, indicating how children's personal rights will not be violated at any time.
- Facility shall be placed on a 2 year compliance plan.
- Facility shall have increased unannounced visits for the next two years to monitor compliance.
