On November 5, 2021 at 1:15 PM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Betzayra Cervantes and Dean Thompson made an unannounced visit to conduct a Required - 1 Year Inspection. LPA met with licensee Rigo Chavez and explained the purpose of the inspection. Prior to entering the facility, LPA conducted a COVID-19 risk assessment. All answers indicated no exposure to COVID-19. LPAs, in the company of the Licensee toured the interior and exterior of the facility. There were 6 children in care at the time of the inspection.

The home is a five bedroom, three bath, two story home with a detached garage. The licensee uses the living room, one bedroom, one bathroom, and backyard for child care. The four bedrooms, two bathrooms and garage will be off limits and are inaccessible to children in care. LPA observed various safety gates at the entrance of the living room, and another at the entrance of the bedroom the children use, preventing access to the rest of the bedrooms. Licensee utilizes a separate entrance for the daycare, preventing access to the kitchen and the rest of the house. The back yard has age appropriate toys and day-care equipment and is fully fenced. LPA observed sufficient shade for children to have access to. The licensee has two outdoor storage units fully secured preventing children from having access. All adults in the home are fingerprint cleared.

LPA did not observe any toxins/hazardous items accessible to children. A regulation 2A10BC fire extinguisher was observed mounted in the living room with a service date of 04/20/2021. Licensee is reminded to service or purchase the fire extinguisher yearly. LPA had licensee test dual smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in the home and were found operational. Licensee's Pediatric First Aid/CPR certificate is valid until 10/23/23.
