On May 13, 2022 at 12:15 PM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Betzayra Cervantes and Susana Martinez made an unannounced visit to conduct Case Management - Licensee Initiated, capacity change inspection. LPA met with licensee, Julie Galvan and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPA conducted a COVID-19 risk assessment. All answers indicated no exposure to COVID-19. LPA in the company of the licensee toured the interior and exterior of the facility. Licensee and assistant were caring for seven children at the time of the inspection.

On May 9, 2022, the Oxnard Fire Department conducted a fire inspection for an increase in capacity. Fire clearance approval for the large FCCH was granted on 05/09/2022. The home is a three bedroom, one bath single story home. The licensee uses the living room, dining room which has been made into the main play room, one bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, and backyard for the day-care. There are age appropriate toys, teaching materials and furnishings in good condition and free of hazards. The two bedrooms, garage, and fenced off portion of the backyard are off limits and are inaccessible to children in care. The backyard is fully enclosed and licensee has age appropriate toys in the backyard readily accessible to children. LPA did not observe any toxins/hazardous items accessible to children. In the back of the house, there is a detached rented studio with one fingerprint cleared adult residing in the home. LPA observed a locked storage shed located in the side yard, which is inaccessible to children in care. Licensee has two dogs which are kept in a separate fenced area of the backyard which is secured and inaccessible to children.

All adults in the home are fingerprint cleared. LPA did not observe any toxins/hazardous items accessible to children. A regulation 2A10BC fire extinguisher was observed with a purchase date of 04/07/2022.

Licensee's Pediatric First Aid/CPR certificate is valid until 03/01/2023. Licensee's Mandated Reported Training certificate is valid until 02/16/2023. Licensee last completed an earthquake drill on 04/10/2022. The Licensee states firearm as well as ammunition is stored on site. LPA observed that the firearm and ammunition are secured in a locked safe. Licensee has completed all required licensing requirements for a large family childcare license. LPAs reviewed the capacity requirements for a large FCCH and provided capacity handout. Facility annual required inspection was completed on 4/14/2022 with no cited deficiencies.

The home meets Title 22 of Community Care Licensing requirements for a Large Family Child Care License effective today, May 13, 2022.



Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee, Julie Galvan.

A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted for 30 days.
