25 | On May 31, 2023 Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Susana Martinez conducted an unannounced case management- licensee initiated inspection for the purpose of increasing the capacity. LPA met with licensee Yanira Ortega and advised her of the purpose for the inspection. Together with the licensee, LPA toured the home inside and outside. At the time of inspection there were 5 children under the care and supervision of the licensee.
The home is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath single story home. The licensee primarily uses living-room, one bathroom and backyard for childcare. The kitchen was observed to be completely off limits, child gates are at the entrance of the kitchen preventing children from having access. LPA observed age appropriate toys and furnishings available for children in care in good condition and free of hazards. In the backyard, the children's play area was observed free of hazards. No bodies of water were present at the time of inspection.
LPA reminded licensee to keep the sheds locked and inaccessible to children in care and also reminded licensee to ensure the children's restroom is free of any hazards/toxic items. During the inspection licensee's assistant arrived with 3 school age children. LPA provided licensee with a pictorial ratio handout and emphasized when there is no qualified assistant, the capacity shall revert back to the requirements for a Small Family Child Care Home.
The Oxnard Fire Department granted a fire clearance on 05/25/2023.
The home meets Title 22 Division 12 requirements of a Large FCCH. Effective date of license is today, May 31, 2023.
A notice of site visit was given and must remain posted on, or immediately adjacent to, the interior side of the main door for 30 days.
Exit interview conducted and report was reviewed with the licensee Yanira Ortega.
