32 | Infant classrooms house changing tables which havw a padded surface no less than one-inch thick and covered with washable vinyl or plastic, in good repair and sink within arm’s reach. Changing table is not located in the kitchen/food-preparation area. LPA observed sufficient number of cribs with firm mattress, and free of loose articles and objects. The sleeping area for infants is physically separated from the indoor activity space by a sound absorbing partition. LPA observed a variety of age-appropriate toys, equipment, feeding chairs, and manipulatives for children in care and LPA observed waste receptacles to have tight fitting lids.
The infant outdoor area is separated and gated from the preschool play area. LPA observed ample shade, play equipment in good condition, soft material to absorb falls, grass, and water available for use.
The preschool classrooms contain age-appropriate toys, equipment, sufficient number of mats for napping, and cubbies for individual items. LPA observed comfortable room temperature, access to filtered water and ample play activities for stimulation.
The preschool outdoor area consists of two yards. Side yard is enclosed by fencing and contains age-appropriate play structure with slide, soft padding to absorb falls, tricycle area, sinks, and sandbox available for use. Enclosed large yard consists of shade, grass, equipment, tricycle area, and director stated water will be provided. Preschool play area is separate from infant area by gating.
LPA observed sanctuary and gymnasium to have ample space for any additional activities and fire extinguisher present.
Drinking water from a noncontaminating fixture or container shall be readily available both indoors and in the outdoor activity area. LPA advised per Health and Safety Code 1597.16(a)(1) Lead Testing and PIN-21-21-CCP Assembly Bill (AB) 2370, Chapter 676, Statutes of 2018, requires all licensed Child Care Centers (CCCs) constructed before January 1, 2010 to test their drinking water for lead contamination between January 1, 2020 and January 1, 2023, and then every 5 years after the date of the first test.
Per Written Directive 100700(c)(1) Written Directives for Lead Testing (1) For a license issued on or after July 1, 2022, initial testing results shall be received and posted within 180 days of licensure.
