25 | On September 16, 2024 at 12:30 PM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Aaliyah Zendejas and Susana Martinez conducted an announced Inspection for the purpose of performing a pre-licensing inspection. LPAs Zendejas and Martinez met with Magdalena Garcia, Applicant and discussed the purpose of the Inspection. LPAs and Applicant together toured the interior and exterior of the home. The home is a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom home with a kitchen, living room, and enclosed front and backyard.
All adults in the home are fingerprint cleared. Applicant was reminded that all adults 18 and over living in the home, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
During this tour the following was noted:
Applicant applied for a Small Family Child Care license. Family members residing in the home are 2 adults.
Per Applicant, the operating hours will be Monday through Friday from 07:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Applicants states that they will be providing care for children 0-5 years of age.
All areas identified on the facility sketch were inspected. This is a two story home, with the upstairs area being off limits to children in care and is prevented from being accessible by a gate in front of the stairs. The home was inspected for safety, comfort, cleanliness, telephone service, heating and ventilation, inaccessibility to poisons, detergents, cleaning compounds, medicines, and hazardous items that can pose a danger to children. There are no bodies of water observed. In the outdoor area, LPAs observed a fence prohibiting children from leaving. LPAs advised applicant to get a lock on the fence to further prevent inaccessibility. There is no fireplace or furnace within the home.
