32 | The Licensee submitted documentation for a FCCH change of capacity. The Licensee is seeking to change the FCCH’s capacity from 6 (Small FCCH) to 12 (Large FCCH). The Ventura County Fire Department granted a fire clearance following an inspection completed at FCCH on 04/09/2026.
A 2A10BC fire extinguisher was observed with a purchase date of 04/10/26. The applicant was reminded that the fire extinguisher must be serviced or replaced annually. The LPA had the applicant test the smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector, which were found to be operational at 1:31 PM. All adults residing in the home are fingerprint cleared. The home was observed to be orderly. No bodies of water were observed on the premises. The applicant stated that there are no firearms or ammunition in the home.
The applicant’s Pediatric First Aid/CPR certification is valid until 10/07/27. The applicant’s Mandated Reporter Training is valid until 04/13/28 . Preventive Health and Safety and Nutrition Training was completed on 11/18/23. Child care orientation was completed on 11/16/23.
The applicant/licensee provided proof of control of property.
The applicant/licensee has not obtained a signed Property Owner/Landlord Consent form (LIC 9149). Without this consent, the applicant understands that, once licensed, they can operate with a maximum capacity of 6 [or 12] children. If property owner/landlord consent is obtained in the future, the applicant is advised that a new Application for a Family Child Care Home License (LIC 279) must be submitted with a change of capacity fee of $25, to increase the capacity and provide care to 8 [or 14] children.
Applicant/Licensee, was reminded that all adults 18 and over living in the home, persons who provide care and supervision to children, and staff who have contact with children, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5-days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30-days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
