25 | On February 15, 2023, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Erwin Tjhia met with Licensee, Kim Lee Truong for the purpose of a case management inspection. Licensee has applied to change from a Small Family Child Care Home to a Large Family Child Care Home. Licensee's partner and daughter were also present during the inspection. LPA verified the annual fees are current. Fire clearance was granted by West Sacramento Fire Department on 02/09/2023
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
A health and safety inspection was conducted in all areas accessible to children. Off-limits areas include all bedrooms, laundry room and, garage. Off limit areas are being made inaccessible by closed locked doors and baby gates. LPA observed the required postings and a working phone. 2A10BC fire extinguisher meets regulations. LPA observed smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, and verified they were both functional. LPA toured the kitchen area and verified knives and cleaners were inaccessible to children in care.
Licensee stated there is weapons in the home. LPA verified that weapons and ammunition were stored in separate locked safes. LPA observed a hand gun in a locked box in Licenee's bedroom closet. LPA also observed locked ammunition in a locked combination safe.
Current in-person EMSA pediatric CPR and First Aid certification was verified and Child Care Provider Mandated Reporter certification was verified. The CPR will expire 06/2023 and the Mandated reporter will expire on 06/2023.
