25 | On March 25, 2024, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Lauren Scott and Janie Davis met with Licensee, Pei Ling Wei for the purpose of conducting a case management inspection to increase the facility capacity. Licensee applied to change from a Small Family Child Care Home to a Large Family Child Care Home. Fire clearance was granted by Davis Fire Department on 3/12/2024.
At time of inspection, LPA conducted an annual inspection as well. LPA observed three children present in the home with Licensee. Licensee's operating hours are Monday through Friday from 8:15 AM. to 5:15 PM. LPA verified the annual fees are current.
Licensee was reminded that all adults 18 and over living or working in the home, including employees and volunteers, except as specified in Health and Safety Code section 1596.871, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a licensed Family Child Care Home. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day for a maximum of 5 days or, if the penalty is for a repeat violation, for a maximum of 30 days per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.
A health and safety inspection was conducted in all areas accessible to children. Off-limits areas include all the bedrooms and garage. Licensee had a new bathroom and laundry room built in the home. LPA toured the new rooms. At time of inspection, licensee requested to make bedroom 3 on limits, and the kitchen, bathroom 2 and laundry room off limits. New off limits: bedroom 1 and 2, kitchen, laundry room, bathroom 2 and garage. Off limit areas are being made inaccessible by closed locked doors and baby gates.
