On Friday, March 14, 2025, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Lauren Scott and Elizabeth Santiago with Director, Diana Gonzalez for the purpose of an unannounced annual inspection. Facility days and hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM. The Director was reminded never to exceed the conditions, limitations and capacity specified on the license.

All staff present during today's inspection have a fingerprint clearance. Facility Representative was reminded that all adults 18 and over, including employees and volunteers, must obtain a criminal record clearance or exemption, or transfer their existing clearance or exemption, prior to initial presence in a Child Care Center. A civil penalty of $100.00 minimum/day up to $500.00 maximum per day/per person will be assessed if this regulation is violated.

LPA toured the facility, including all activity and classroom spaces, restrooms, food service and outdoor play areas. LPA reviewed care and supervision of children, staffing ratios, medications and first aid supplies, furniture, equipment, fire drills, menus and drinking water. LPA observed all required forms to be posted. Director stated that there are no firearms or bodies of water on the premises. The facility has at least one functioning smoke and carbon monoxide detector. The facility provides breakfast, lunch and snack to children in care. All food is prepared on site. Kitchen was toured at time of inspection.

Infant Activity Space:
LPA observed 8 infant children in care with 2 staff. There were cribs available for each infant under 12 months old and cots available for infants over 12 months old. There are needs and services plans for each infant enrolled. LPA observed proper storage of refrigerated bottles which were dated and labeled with children's names.

LPA observed that hazardous items (disinfectants, cleaning solutions etc.) were inaccessible to children in care. LPA observed cleaning solutions were kept separate from the stored food items in the kitchen. All furnishings were in good condition. Infant diaper changing area is clean and within arm's reach of a sink. There is a one inch thick mat for the changing table with a vinyl surface. Bathrooms were clean and all sinks and toilets were in operating condition. There are adequate toys and equipment available for children. Outdoor play area was toured. Playground equipment and surfaces were inspected and are in good condition with enough resilient material to absorb a fall. Shade was provided via sunshades.

LPA observed 15min infant napping logs for infants 24 months and under. LPA observed a copy of LIC 9227 Individual Sleeping Plan for infants under 12 months during today's inspection. LPA discussed the safe sleep regulations with Facility Representative and discussed the Child Care Licensing Safe Sleep webpage at https://www.cdss.ca.gov/inforesources/child-care-licensing/public-information-and-resources/safe-sleep as an additional resource. LPA also informed Facility Representative of the importance of checking for recalled infant devices on the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) website at https://www.cpsc.gov/ and recommended they register all infant devices with the CPSC to be notified of any recalls on their purchased equipment.

Preschool Activity Space:
LPA observed 22 children in care with 4 staff. There are adequate toys and equipment available for children. Outdoor play area was toured. Playground equipment and surfaces were inspected and are in good condition with enough resilient material to absorb a fall. Shade was provided via sunshades.

Fire drills were being conducted at least once every 6 months. LPA reviewed the sign in/out book and observed that the children are properly signed in/out. Children and staff files were reviewed. Each child's file contained an emergency card, as well as other required documents. LPA observed staff files and discussed required documents, including health screening reports with TB test and required MMR and TDAP vaccines. At least one staff member present today has current Pediatric CPR and First Aid. LPA discussed requirement of AB1207 Mandated Reporter training. The Facility Representative was reminded to renew the course every 2 years through www.mandatedreporterca.com website.

This facility provides Incidental Medical Services (IMS). LPA reviewed storage of medications and equipment/supplies, and reviewed children’s personnel, and administrative records. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Child Care Centers Sections 101173 and 101226.
