32 | Facility chef holds a meeting once a month with residents available to gather information on change of menu and other improvements that residents might request. Residents stated that food on the menu sometimes not available due to popularity, food not always hot to their desire, and certain food items seem to be cheap instead of a better quality such as English Muffins. Kitchen during toured of the facility on 6/10/21 was clean, food was properly stored, refrigerators were at designated temperatures, and sufficient supply of perishable and non-perishable at the time of the visit. Menus are available in the dining area. Based on interviews, menus, and tour of the facility LPA wasn’t able to prove or disprove that food in the facility is not of good quality.
In regard to “Administrator doesn’t treat residents with dignity and respect”, LPA learned during interviews of residents that former ED Ashlee “didn’t seem to interact with residents”, didn’t answer emails or phone calls in a timely matter, and during Town Halls would not answer questions asked stating “We are not going to talk about this”. However, some residents shown appreciation on the fact that they felt safe during COVID-19 in 2020. Residents thought that former ED Ashlee was very competent but might needed training on how to work with elderly population. Based on interviews LPA wasn’t able to prove or disprove that former ED Ashlee Sloan wasn’t treating residents with dignity and respect.
A finding that the complaint allegations of "Facility failed to provide residents with food of good quality.”, “The Administrator does not treat the residents with dignity and respect.” are unsubstantiated meaning that although the allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove the alleged violation did or did not occur, therefore the allegation is UNSUBSTANTIATED.
