|On 10/3/19 at 1pm, Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Loretta Dyson and Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Wynn Norona arrived at the center for a case management inspection. LPAs met with Renu Saggi, center Director and Margarita Saucedo, Program Compliance Manager. The center currently operates in classroom 5 on the campus of Guy Emanuele Elementary School, and an application was received to add classroom 6 to the license and increase the capacity. There were 18 children and 4 additional staff present in classroom 5. The center operates Monday thru Friday 7am-6pm. LPA and LPM toured the classrooms, including bathrooms, and the playground to conduct a health and safety inspection. The measurements are as follows: |
INDOOR: 1,421.05 square feet= 40 children
OUTDOOR: no change to the yard space
A fire clearance from the Union City Fire Department, for a total capacity of 36 preschoolers including 1 non-ambulatory child in classroom 6, was received on 9/17/19.
LPA and LPM observed that the both classrooms have sufficient heating, lighting and ventilation, ample age appropriate toys and equipment that are in good condition, fully charged 2A10BC fire extinguishers, working carbon monoxide detectors, first aid kits, telephones, and centralized smoke/fire detectors. There is drinking water available both indoors and outdoors. The playground is fenced and has a sufficient amount of shade. LPA and LPM observed that all required forms are posted and visible for public review, and reviewed the menu and sample sign in and out sheet.
The center will be licensed for 36 preschool age children, operating in classrooms 5 and 6, effective today 10/3/19. There are no deficiencies being cited today. This report will remain on file for 3 years. An exit interview was conducted with Ms. Saggi, and a notice of site visit was provided and needs to remain posted for 30 days.
