|Licensing Program Analyst, Diana Stephenson met with Director, Stephanie Baigorria for a UNANNOUNCED 3 REQUIRED INSPECTION. The inspection began at 9 am which was conducted with Director. Licensee, Diana Gallegos came around 10 am. There were 56 children and 11 staff members including the Director and Licensee. The center has preschool with toddler option which includes 10 toddlers and 46 preschoolers. There was a current children and staff roster available for review. There are 5 classrooms that are being utilize for the preschool program which are named Sprouts, Maples, Mulberries, Redwoods and Sequoias. The facility was observed to be clean, safe, sanitary and in good repair. All storage areas for poisons are locked.|
CLASSROOMS: The five classrooms were inspected. All children are under supervision including visual supervision by staff members. Teacher-child ratio was observed. There are adequate play and learning materials available. Furniture and equipment are age appropriate and in good repair. There is adequate heating/air conditioning, ventilation and lighting. Drinking water is available inside and outside of the center. There are working telephones on site. There is proper individual storage space for each child. The children take naps at this facility. The isolation area for sick children is in the office. There is a more than one carbon monoxide in the facility.
BATHROOMS AND TOILETING AREAS: There are separate bathrooms for staff and children. Toilets and faucets work properly. The children are able to reach the sinks and toilets. Supplies are available to the children.
FOOD SERVICE AREAS: The center provides am/pm snacks. Lunch for children is brought from home. The menus are posted at least one week in advance, available for review and dated.
OUTDOOR PLAY AREAS: There are no bodies of water accessible to children. There are age appropriate toys and materials for the children. There are play structures available to children.
HEALTH RELATED SERVICES: Medications are stored in a lock box inside the top shelf of the kitchen cabinet. The first aid kit is complete and available in each classroom.
