|"Spanish speaker" Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Diana Martinez conducted an unannounced annual/random inspection. LPA met with licensee Elvira Ochoa. Also present were mother-in-law/assistant Esperanza Lopez Toscano and son/assistant Brandon Gomez Ochoa. Seven children were present today. LPA conducted an interior and exterior tour of the home. The accessible rooms are the living room, dining area, kitchen, and hall bathroom. The off-limit rooms are made inaccessible with child safety plastic door knob covers. Safe, healthful, and comfortable accommodations, furnishings, and equipment were observed. Also observed were safe toys, play equipment, and materials. In the backyard, licensee has two small dogs that are kept in a fenced kennel on the north side of the home and will be kept inaccessible to children. Licensee is aware of the safety of children around animals. The backyard is currently off-limits to daycare children as a daycare room is being added to the home and is currently under construction. Licensee will contact LPA when addition is near completion. There are no bodies of water or firearms in this home. No poisons were observed on the premises. Cleaning compounds, medications and other hazardous items are inaccessible to children. There is a working fire extinguisher, smoke detector, carbon monoxide indicator, and adequate heating and ventilation for safety and comfort. There are no stairs in the home. There is a working cellular telephone and number was verified. Adequate supervision is being provided during this visit. Capacity as specified on the license is being maintained. A current roster of the children in care is maintained. Licensee maintains documentation of immunizations for the children. Pediatric CPR/First Aid are current with the expiration date of 10/2019.
