25 | Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Dayna Chambers conducted an unannounced annual inspection on December 11, 2023, at: 2:54PM. LPA met with Carly Armacost, Director, who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. This is a preschool program with a toddler component which consists of 5 classrooms; RM#1-Bumblebees, RM#2- Let’s Go Dragonflies, RM#3 – Grasshoppers, RM#4 – Butterflies, RM#5 Lady Bugs. Facility operation hours are Monday to Friday from 7:30AM to 5:30 PM. All areas identified on the Facility Sketch were inspected. Upon arrival, the following staff were present during this inspection:
RM#1-Bumblebees (ages: 18 – 24 months) with Staff #1 and Staff #2 and 6 infants, RM#2- Let’s Go Dragonflies (ages 18 – 24 months) with Staff #3 and Staff #4 and 10 infants, RM#3 – Grasshoppers (ages 3 years) with Staff #5,Staff #6, and Staff #7 and 16 preschoolers , RM#4 – Butterflies (ages 4 and 5 years) with Staff #8, Staff #9, and Staff #10 and 23 preschoolers, RM#5 Lady Bugs (up to 5 years) with Staff #11, Staff #12, and Staff #13 with 16 preschoolers. The facility was observed to be within the license capacity and limitations. The following was observed during the tour of the facility: Furniture and equipment were inspected for age appropriateness and in good repair. Telephone service, heating, lighting, and ventilation were evaluated. Children have their own cubby to store their belongings. Linens are taken home each week to be washed. Napping equipment cots were observed in a separate storage room. Per director, the isolation area is located in the office. Age-appropriate sinks and toilets were inspected for availability and good repair in all restrooms. General sanitation was observed. Availability of indoor drinking water was observed in classrooms. Disinfectants, cleaning solutions, medication and other items that are dangerous to children, were inaccessible to children. Carbon monoxide detectors were observed and are operable. All kitchen areas/food preparation areas and food storage areas are kept clean and are free of litter, rubbish, rodents, and/or any other vermin. All storage containers for solid waste, including moveable bins shall have tight-fitting covers that are kept on, and in good repair. Trash cans used to discard food have tight fitting lids or solid waste bags shall be discarded immediately after each meal. Outdoor playground equipment is in a safe condition, free of sharp, loose, or pointed parts. The surface of the outdoor activity space is maintained |
