Licensing Program Analyst, V. Wheatley conducted a random inspection and met with the site supervisor, Diann Fauntleroy. LPA toured the entire preschool in accordance with the facility sketch. LPA observed 16 children on the playground and 16 children in the second classroom. The children are supervised properly and operating within proper ratios.

Furniture and equipment was inspected for age appropriateness and good repair. The telephone service, heating, lighting, and ventilation is adequate. The facility has two wall heaters which are screened. There is drinking water available in the each classroom. There are cubbies for children's belongings. There are cots for napping. The bedding is kept separately in the children's cubbies. There is extra bedding is on the premises if needed. LPA observed a first aid kit, age appropriate toys and educational materials. LPA also observed the outlets covered and trash bins with lids. Children are inspected for illnesses as they arrive. There is a separate area for isolation and care of ill children in the director's office. There is a cot available for each ill child.

There is a fully equipped kitchen on the premises however the food is brought in from an outside company Chefables. The children are served breakfast, lunch and snack. LPA observed menus posted and 1% milk. The allergies of children are posted in the kitchen and in the classroom.

A review of medication policy indicated that medication is not administered. The staff do not provide any Incidental Medical Services for children at this time.

The toilets and faucets were inspected. There is toilet paper, soap and paper towels in each restroom. The sinks and toilets are age appropriate. The water temperature is appropriate.

Outdoor equipment was inspected for health, safety, cushioning material, good material, good repair and age appropriateness. Staff were reminded to take drinking water outside. Play area does not have any bodies of water. Water tables are emptied after each use. There is a shade and rest area.

Teacher child ratios were observed and staff names recorded. Care and supervision was evaluated to determine if the basic needs of children are met and appropriate. Staff was questioned to establish their familiarity of emergency reporting requirements, emergency disaster plans and other site operations. Personal rights were discussed. A fire /earthquake drill is held once a month and logged.

There is a parent board. The children are not transported off the premises at this present time. However when the children are transported the vehicle will have seat belts/seat restraints.

Children's records were reviewed and are complete. The staff members have current CPR and first aid which expires August 2017. Additional forms and child care updates may be obtained at the department's website www.ccld.ca.gov.

There are no violations according to Title 22 Regulations.
