|Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Majarian conducted an announced site visit and met with the applicant who guided LPA on a tour of the facility inside and outside. Entrance to the facility is off of Colgate street. LPA met with the licensee and walked inside and outside the designated areas of the facility. |
The facility is located on a Hancock Elementary School (LAUSD) school site and uses the auditorium as the indoor space and all areas of the playground for outdoor activities. There is an outdoor space immediately outside the auditorium with benches and tables that is being used for outdoor activities and/or eating snacks. There are no bodies of water on the premises and the outdoor space is completely fenced in. The licensee states that the children in the program will not be allowed to use the yellow and green play equipment (monkey bars), as well as the monkey bars on the purple equipment.
The licensee is requesting increase capacity from 100 to 150. The fire department has approved the capacity of 150 children. The outdoor space is large enough for 150 children; however, the inside area which is the school cafeteria is large enough for only 32 children. Per licensee, they have the authorization to use all the bathrooms on the premises, including the one close to the grass area of the yard. The staff bathroom is in the hallway. There is waiver in the file for use of the bathrooms for after school program children.
Licensee understands that the program children will not commingle with other programs on the school premises.
1) 37 x 29 = 1073 + 48=1121: 35 = 32
The following is necessary prior to capacity increase:
1. Licensee to provide cafeteria as additional space to add to the existing lease agreement as part of licensed area for the after school program.
