25 | Licensee’s primary language is Khymer. Inspection was conducted in English. Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Dayna Chambers conducted an unannounced annual inspection to the above facility on February 7, 2023. LPA arrived at the facility at 9:30am and met with Sharon Sar, Licensee who guided analyst on a tour of the facility. Also present during this inspection, was Ryan Menn, Licensee’s Assistant/Spouse. Per Licensee, operation hours are Monday through Friday: 7:00am to 6:00am, Saturday: 7:00am – 7:00pm, and closed on Sun day. There are 11 children that are currently enrolled. A current children’s roster was available for review. There were 4 children present upon arrival. This is a one-story home which consists of 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, hallway by entry way, living room/dining room, kitchen, covered patio/activity room, and detached garage. Children use both bathrooms in the home. Per Licensee, areas off limits to children and parents include: 4 bedrooms and backyard located downstairs. The licensee provides food for children in care.
Individuals who reside in the home were noted and discussed. Per Licensee, they currently have one assistant and one volunteer. All adults present in the home have obtained a criminal record clearance or exemption prior to working, residing or volunteering in the licensed childcare home. Licensee states that there are no firearms stored in the home. All areas identified on the facility sketch that are accessible for children to use were inspected for safety, comfort, and cleanliness. There is telephone service via cellphone that is used, and the cellphone stays at the facility during operation hours. There is ventilation and heating via central heat and air. Safe toys play equipment and materials were observed. Detergents, cleaning compounds, medications, and other items which could pose a danger to children were observed to be inaccessible to children. The licensee states that there are no poisons in the home and understands that storage areas for poisons must be locked with a key or combination lock. The restrooms children use was observed to be safe and sanitary. The valve on the required 2A 10BC fire extinguisher indicates fully charged and was serviced on 12/31/2022, as indicated on service tag. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors were tested and are operable. Licensee cares for children 12 months and older at this time. Licensee states that infants sleep in the Livingroom/dining room where they are constantly supervised. Appropriate sleeping arrangements and cribs were observed.
