Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mahnaz (Nancy) Malek conducted a case management inspection of the facility for the purpose of decreasing the preschool capacity by taking off room # 6. LPA met with director, Jasmin Canales who gave a tour of the school to LPA. Currently the facility is licensed for 104 preschool children in rooms 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9. LPA observed there were a total of 48 preschool children with 6 staff in rooms 5, 7, 8, and 9.
A review of the Facility Personnel Report Summary on this date indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions.
The facility has requested to provide care and supervision to 92 preschool children ages 2 to 6 years old, Monday to Friday from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm in rooms 5, 7, 8, and 9.
The children are dropped off and are singed in and out at the entrance door electronically. The facility has met all the posting requirements. All the preschool rooms were measured.
The indoor activity space measurement for the current requested capacity is as follows:
Room 5 is: 786.92 square feet
Room 7 is: 888.31 square feet
Room 8 is: 889.23 square feet
Room 9 is: 1092.70 square feet

The total indoor space for all the 4 classrooms are: 3675.16 divided by 35 = 104.49
(104 children)

Total of toilets: 9 X 15 = 135 children
Total of sinks: 8 X 15 = 120 children
Additionally there is one sink attached to the diaper changing table in room 5 and 7 for younger children (2 years and 3 years old) in these classrooms. All the diaper changing tables meet Title 22 Regulations. The diaper changing tables are located in the classrooms in a way the staff are able to supervise the rest of the children while changing diaper for one child.

The playground was observed under remodeling for new cushioning material changing from wood chips to turf. The classrooms are equipped with carbon monoxide detector. All the classrooms have age appropriate toys and equipment. The director's CPR and 1st aid, immunization, and Mandated Reporter Training Certificates are current.
