An unannounced case management inspection was conducted today by Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Mahnaz (Nancy) Malek who met with the director Fashana Afaz. This facility has originally requested to increase their capacity from 18 infants and toddlers to 63 infants and toddlers by adding additional rooms from suit # 34. The main entrance is from suite # 35 for infant/toddler and preschool programs. LPA has made two different inspections on 1/9/2020 and 1/22/2020 for the current changes. On 1/22/2020 LPA made an inspection based on the revised fire clearance approval received dated 1/15/2020 to our office. The facility was granted a provisional license for 22 infants and toddlers in rooms 4 and 8 per Fire Clearance Approval until the additional room (room 9) to be approved.
According to the Fire Clearance Approval received in our office on 2/27/2020 the facility has been approved for a maximum of 50 infants and toddlers ages 6 weeks to 24 months old in rooms 4, 8, and 9 due to these rooms have direct exits to the exterior of the building.
The measurements for rooms 4, 8, and 9 are as follows:
Room # 4 from suite 35 is approximately 350 square feet after deducting the crib area which accommodates 10 children under 24 months old.
Room # 8 from suite 34 is approximately 420 square feet after deducting the crib area which accommodates 12 children under 24 months old.
Room # 9 from suite 34 is approximately 570 square feet which accommodates 16 children under 24 months old.
