A health and safety review visit (1) is being conducted as a compliance review. Upon arrival, LPA met with Contact Teacher Biljana Milankovski and stated the purpose of the visit. LPA observed no children in care this date. Per Ms. Milankovski, the facility operates two half day programs, Monday through Thursday. There is no full day program this year and therefore Friday is curriculum planning and preparation day for staff but not a childcare day. Licensing Program Analyst (LPA), Kim Leung, toured the center, inside and out, inspecting the activity rooms and the playground. Records were reviewed. The following was observed:

· There are 31 children enrolled in each half day program which is within the terms of the license
· Classrooms are equipped with age appropriate furniture and equipment in good condition
· Classrooms are clean and free of hazards
· No weapons stored at the facility as stated by Ms. Milankovski
· Medications are secured in locked boxes and stored in latched cabinets where inaccessible to children
· Hazards are stored where inaccessible to children
· Toxins are locked
· Bathrooms were observed to be safe, sanitary and in operating condition
· Facility is sharing the playground with kindergarten students on an alternate schedule. Playgrounds are enclosed by appropriate fences and free of hazards
· Outdoor activity areas are supplied with age and size appropriate equipment in good condition

· Food are prepared and delivered each day from RCOE's central kitchen at a different location. The facility has a kitchen for storage of milk, extra food and serving utensils. The kitchen is clean and free of vermin.
· Food is stored appropriately and protected from contamination
· Sign in/Sign out record was reviewed and meets regulation requirements
· Staff member’s CPR/First Aid expires this month in April 2016. Staff stated that current pediatric CPR and First Aid training has been completed on 4/15/2016 and they are now waiting for the training cards to be issued.
· Required emergency contact forms were reviewed
· The most recent fire/earthquake drills were conducted on 4/6/2016 per drill log
· Facility is exempt from the Department's criminal record clearance requirements. Criminal record clearances are requirements for employment with RCOE.

No deficiency was cited.

· The facility representative was advised that the Notice of Site Visit must be posted at the entrance of the facility for a period of 30 days. If a serious violation is cited, a copy of the licensing report (LIC809) must also be posted for 30 days.
· AB 978 – Zero Tolerance Related Regulations went into effect January 18, 2011 – In accordance with California Health and Safety Code Section 1596.99(c)/1597.58(c).

Facility is advised to review the updated childcare requirements posted on the Department's website at www.ccld.ca.gov.

LPA would return at a later date to observe teacher-child interactions and program activities.

Exit interview conducted was conducted with Ms. Milankovski, Notice of Site Visit was issued and must be posted for 30 days. A copy of this report was left at the facility.

A copy of this report must be made available to the public for 3 years.
