25 | Licensing Program Manager (LPM) Mary Segura, and Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Fermin Campos-Jaramillo met with Licensee and Site Director Rene Rhodes in an informal in office meeting. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the licensee's Plan of Corrections (POC) for the most recent deficiencies cited to her license on 10/05/22.
On 10/05/22 LPAs Villagrana and Berumen observed one child walk out of the lunch room, down the hall to the bathroom without supervision. which poses an immediate health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.
On 10/05/22 LPAs Villagrana and Berumen observed staff #3 who is an aide in the two's nap room with eight children. Three children were awake which poses an immediate health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.
During the meeting, licensee Rene Rhodes had the opportunity to explain to LPM Segura the POC submitted to this Licensing Program on 10/25/22 and 10/06/22 respectively. Licensee Rhodes explained how she will assure her staff will provide adequate supervision to the children in care all the time the children are present in the Center. Licensee agreed to ensure staff are providing visual supervision at all times. Licensee/director will conduct weekly spot checks for each classroom to ensure staff are providing appropriate visual supervision to children all the times. Licensee/director will document the spot checks in a journal that will be available for department staff review. Licensee agreed to coach teachers more closely if they need to improve on supervision.
Licensee was advised that closer supervision will be maintained on her license with more frequent unannounced inspections for the next 12 months.
LPA discussed the requirements of AB633 to licensee and provided her the AB633 fact sheet and a copy of Acknowledgement of Receipt of Licensing Reports (LIC 9224) and licensee understands the requirements. Upon receipt, licensee shall post and provide copies of this licensing report to parents/guardians of children in care at the facility and to parents/guardians of children newly enrolled at the facility during the next 12 months.
