|3) LPA Miriam Pennock conducted an annual random visit at Happy Time Nursery in Rancho Santa Fe. Present to assist with the visit is the Director/Owner Maryann Cox. There are 15 children present today.|
There are no bodies of water or weapons of any kind. Children are visually supervised at all times. LPA was able to walk into the facility. Ratios are maintained at 4 staff for 25 children maximum. Disinfectants and cleaning supplies are kept in the locked storage shed outside. All materials are toxic free. There is a cleaning service inside once per week and outside twice per week. There are currently no children on medication. There is one children's bathroom with two toilets and all toilets and sinks are in safe and sanitary condition. Floors are clean and safe.
Furniture and equipment are in good condition - free of sharp, loose or pointed parts. Facility serves snack and children bring their own lunches. Facility operates 8:30 - 1:00. Bottled water is available both inside and outside. Menus are posted as you enter the facility on the wall. Facility has one operating carbon monoxide detector.
Playground area was toured. There is a gymnastics area, music area, garden, and play structures using sand for cushioning material. There are lots of awnings. Children ate snack outside. Outside surfaces are maintained in safe condition and are free of hazards. Licensee operates the facility within the conditions, limitations, and capacity specified on the license.
All staff have criminal record clearances on file before they start. Staff records were reviewed. All teachers have correct educational requirements on file. Jennifer Crawford's pediatric CPR and First Aid are current through The American Red Cross and cards are good until 6/27/2017.
Parents sign children in and out using full legal signatures. Children's records were reviewed. All had emergency contacts, admission agreements, and physician's reports on file.
Facility offers riding lessons on Mondays, music on Wednesday, gymnastics on Thursday and Spanish on Friday. They teach manners.
At the present time there do not appear to be any deficiencies and this facility appears to be meeting Title 22 and Licensing requirements. This is a public document which must be available at your facility site for a period of three years. Original signature is on original paperwork.
