On 1/13/2021 @ 11:30 a.m., LPA conduced a virtual case management visit due to Covid-19 restrictions. The purpose of this visit is ensure the facility is aware of and following the required Department of Public Health (DPH) Covid-19 Guidelines. LPA met with Lead Teacher Megan Cheek who is the Director's backup when she is not present. Director was out due to family matters. Ms. Cheek stated that they are currently using three classrooms with cohorts of up to 15 children and 2 staff members, not all staff and children are wearing the DPH required facial coverings due to medical issues, and cohorts are commingling on the playground on occasion.

LPA suggested that alternate face coverings be used as outlined in the DPH Guidelines and/or medical documentation supporting the exemptions to wearing the required face covering be on file. LPA explained that per DPH, cohorts may not exceed 16 total, including staff. This means that there can be no more than 14 children per room as the Title 22 ratios are 1:12 for preschool age children and 14 children will require a fully qualified teacher and an aide, at minimum. In addition, LPA explained that cohorts are not to commingle. Outside time should be staggered with one group out a time, allowing for proper sanitation/disinfecting of equipment to be completed in between. If two groups must be out at the same time, the cohorts should be in different areas of the playground with sufficient space between to meet social distancing requirements and prevent inadvertent interaction between the cohorts. This will require sufficient and direct visual supervision at all times.

Provider Information Notice (PIN) 20-22 (9/4/20 update) was provided today as well as a Self Assessment Guide to complete and return to Licensing within 7 days. Complaints made directly to DPH may result in action by that agency. In addition, failure to adhere to DPH Covid-19 required guidelines may result in a risk to the health and safety of children in care and a subsequent citation under Title 22 regulation. This report and Notice of Site Visit is being delivered, via email, due to Covid-19 restrictions. Reply to said email is considered confirmation of receipt and signature.
