|Licensing Program Analyst (LPA) Yolanda Baez, made an unannounced visit for the purpose of an annual inspection. During this visit there were 8 children in care. Licensee's spouse, mother, and 1 minor child were present during the time of the inspection.
LPA Baez toured the home. The primary child care area is the dining room area, day care/ play room that is similar to a living room area, two bedrooms, and one hallway bathroom. The following areas have been made inaccessible with the use of locks or safety gates: the kitchen, the garage, one bedroom that is located by the entry way, the den, and the master loft. The den and master loft are inaccessible through safety gates. There is a spa located in an off limits area, the spa has the proper latches and is inaccessible to the day care children. The spa is only accessed through the inaccessible master loft or the inaccessible apartment that is for Licensee's mom. The apartment is accessed through the play yard and is kept off limits through the use of a safety gate at the bottom of the stairs.
There are a sufficient amount of age appropriate toys, games and books available. The home has plenty of space for the children to eat, sleep and play, and was a comfortable temperature during this visit. The backyard is fully fenced but licensee has stated that she takes the children to a nearby park for outdoor activities. The fire extinguisher is full, of regulation size, and located in the kitchen area. The fireplace is located in the inaccessible den that is adjacent to the dining room and has been made inaccessible through the use of a gate and safety gate. The stairs have been gated. The smoke alarm and CO2 monitor are operational. There are 2 fully vaccinated dogs in the facility. LPA Baez verified a working telephone and all required forms are posted. There are firearms or ammunition on the property. The firearms are located in the off limits master loft in the attic, the firearms are kept in a locked safety box in the attic. The ammunition is kept in the off limits garage in separate lock boxes. LPA Baez verified that all adults living or working in the home have been fingerprint cleared and associated. LPA Baez reviewed children's files, child care roster and emergency drill log. The last emergency drill was conducted in 04/11/16. Licensee's pediatric CPR/FA certification is valid thru August 2016.
