|(2)LPA Armando Locano completed an un-announced annual site inspection today. The purpose of the visit is to ensure the facility is maintaining the health and safety standards as required by CCR, Title 22, Division 12, Chapter 3, Regulations governing Family Child Care Homes. Met with licensee Lucy Lebaron, 4 daycare children were present during the visit and cleared adult helper. LPA toured the home to ensure the home was properly childproofed, LPA observed various toys and activities available for various age groups. Outdoor play area was inspected and verified to have proper shade and adequate toys for various age groups. Children’s records were reviewed and proper forms were in file, facility roster was up to date and verification of fire drills conducted, most recent 9/21/17. There was an operational Type II 10ABC fire extinguisher and working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms maintained in the home. CPR & First Aid Certificates were verified to be up to date for licensee and helpers. There are no weapons or bodies of water on the premises. LPA Reviewed with licensee SIDS and Shaken Baby Syndrome information, clearance requirements for persons over 18 residing or working in the home and new car seat regulations, current car seat handout was provided. A review of staff records on September 27, 2017 indicates that all facility staff or other individuals who require caregiver background checks have received criminal record and child abuse index clearances or exemptions.|
Incidental Medical Services (IMS) policy was discussed. For IMS information see Evaluator Manual - Regulation Interpretations and Procedures for Family Child Care Homes Section 102417. When any IMS is provided, a Plan for Providing IMS must be submitted to the Department. Per new Senate Bill 792 pertaining to immunizations, which require all adults in daycare operation to have proof of immunizations for; Measles, Pertussis or Whooping Cough and Influenza or Flu, licensee provided verification of up to date required immunizations and is in full compliance.
There are no deficiencies cited on this visit, all paperwork was in order, properly posted and the home was properly childproofed.
LPA provided copy of LIC 9213, “Notice of Site Visit,” and observed licensee posting notice during visit.
