32 | In addition, pictures of the caterpillar tunnel, medical records and outside agency reports were also obtained and reviewed. During today’s inspection, LPA conducted a follow-up interview a staff member and an additional day care child and that was related to the incident. LPA received conflicting information throughout the investigation. Evidence obtained confirmed there was inappropriate interaction that occurred between the children involved, however it could not be determined whether it occurred due to lack of supervision. Based on interviews conducted with staff and children, it was determined that the staff member that was present for the incident was walking around the playground supervising all the children playing and was within teacher to child ratio. Staff member was supervising a total of 12 children during the incident. Once the staff member observed the incident in the caterpillar tunnel, the staff member separated the children that were involved and addressed the incident accordingly.
Based on the all the information obtained throughout the investigation regarding the above allegation, the Department found the allegation to be unsubstantiated. Although the above allegation may have happened or is valid, there is not a preponderance of evidence to prove that the of alleged violation occurred. Exit interview was conducted with Director. Notice of Site Visit was provided at conclusion of visit and is to be posted for 30 days. |
