25 | On 10/25/24, at 8:45 AM, Licensing Program Analysts (LPAs) Elizabeth George and Elvin Baddley conducted an unannounced required 3- year Inspection at the above-mentioned family child care home (FCCH). LPAs met with Licensee Claudia Legorreta and explained the purpose of the inspection. LPAs, in the company of the Licensee, toured the interior and exterior of the FCCH. At the time of the inspection six children were present along with Assistants, Ignacio Legorreta and Nancy Castro. Hours of operation are M-F, 6AM-6PM.
This is a single story home with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, living room, dining room, kitchen, backyard and garage. Licensee stated that children have access to the living room, dining room, bathroom, kitchen, and backyard. While the three bedrooms, one bathroom and garage are inaccessible to children in care. The home was orderly and clean with proper ventilation for all children in care. The bathroom used for care is clean and free of toxins. LPAs observed a fireplace in the living room that is covered by a cabinet and made inaccessible to children. LPAs observed three pack n plays in the FCCH that meet regulations. LPAs observed an infant swing which was checked against the recall website and meets regulations. LPAs observed that sharps, knives and medications are stored in the kitchen on a high cabinet that is inaccessible to children in care. LPAs observed that cleaning compounds are stored above the refrigerator as well as in a locked shed in the backyard. Toys, furniture and equipment in the FCCH are age appropriate.
LPAs observed required licensing forms and documents posted within the FCCH. LPAs observed a smoke detector located in the living room which was tested and found to be operational at 9:03 AM. Carbon Monoxide detector was located in the hallway and was tested at 9:31 AM and found to be operational. LPAs observed a regulation fire extinguisher that was serviced 1/29/24. LPAs reminded the licensee to either service or purchase a regulation fire extinguisher annually. LPAs reviewed the FCCH’s fire/disaster drill log. The most recent fire drill was conducted on 7/31/24.
